-- Dr. Strange, page 6 Oh, he will find Eternity! |
Doctor Strange from Strange Tales #137
Script: Stan Lee • Letters: Artie Simek
Guest Appearance: Ancient One, Hamir
Cameo: Baron Mordo
Letters Page: Page One
The Ancient One's attendant begs Dr. Strange to reconsider his decision to try and enter the mind of the Ancient One to learn the secret of Eternity, but Dr. Strange is left no choice. He uses his amulet to pour energy into the life of the Ancient One, while using the mystic eye to enter his mind. But even the comatose Ancient One can still defend his mind from outside intrusion, and he has many psychic and mystical blockades that cause Dr. Strange to back down and restart again. Finally, he projects a mental image of himself into the mind of the Ancient One, who's spirit recognizes him once and for all, and he reveals the secret of Eternity. The worried attendant comes back inside to see Dr. Strange passed out on the floor, and helps to revive him. The Ancient One's health appears to have improved drastically, and Dr. Strange flies off to a mountain peak and issues the incantation. His amulet opens up a wide portal and he enters inside, on his way to Eternity. Baron Mordo flashes to the location where Dr. Strange cast his spell, but he is too late to menace the Master of the Mystic Arts.
