Synopsis: While flying across town in his astral form, Doctor Strange detects an evil mist developing below him. From the mist comes a woman who seems disoriented and unaware of her surroundings. Sensing she is not part of the evil, but only a victim of it, he guides her toward his home. There, he peers into her mind with the enchanted eye of his amulet. He learns of her origins and realizes he must seek advice from the Ancient One to help solve her problem! The Ancient One reveals to Dr. Strange that he will have to go back in time to save her, but that he must finish his business and return before a mystic candle burns out. The candle is lit, and Dr. Strange goes back in time to make things safe for the woman's return.

Meanwhile, in that ancient place, an evil despot named Zota is humiliating a chained warrior when Dr. Strange begins to transport himself into their dimension. Zota is waiting for him, trapping his astral form in a cage made out of a beam of light. Dr. Strange is stuck inside until he is able to divert some smoke from a torch that helps dissipate the light beams, freeing him. He uses his amulet to quickly overpower Zota and force him to free his prisoners, allowing them to restore order in the kingdom. Then, Dr. Strange hurries back into the time stream to go forward to his home. Only seconds remain on the candle, and as it burns out, the Ancient One is pained to think that he has lost his disciple forever. But Dr. Strange resourcefully employs the light from his amulet to keep the waning path home bright enough to follow, and he makes it back just in time. He returns to his corporeal body and frees the young woman from her spell. He sends the woman back in time to return to the arms of the chained warrior, Mark Antony, for she is Cleopatra, and she does not belong in the future.
