Dr. Strange makes it back to New York City and to his home, but sends his ethereal form inside to make sure there aren't any traps set. Inside, he spots The Demon rummaging through his belongings. The Demon notices that Dr. Strange's presence is inside the house and casts a spell enlisting Cyttorak's crimson bands to surround the house. Strange barely escapes. He enacts a plan to gain entry into his house by purchasing a fantastic costume and donning it. He knocks at the door of his house and is greeted by the Demon, and announces himself as a wizard challenging him to a fight of mystic powers. He suckers him into dropping his guard, then punches him in the jaw, knocking him unconscious. He tries to use the Eye of Agamotto, but this triggers a trap that alerts Mordo to his presence!
Dormammu powers up Mordo once again, and he's off to New York City to destroy his enemy. The young woman (later to be known as Clea) who Dr. Strange had saved the time he first came to Dormammu's dimension (see ST #127), spots Dormammu in his plotting and worries about the safety of her hero. Finally, Mordo appears in the sanctum of Dr. Strange. He launches attack after attack at Dr. Strange, until the master of the mystic arts is beaten down to the ground. He realizes that Mordo is being powered by some unknown, though familiar, superior entity. Just as he realizes it is Dormammu, he is blasted into another dimension by the fierce mystic onslaught of Baron Mordo.
(continued in ST #133.)
