Story Synopsis: The Hulk and the Space Lizard battle each other fiercely over ownership of the Ultimate Machine, as the Watcher looks on, vowing not to interfere. He does, however, send the combatants to a remote place where they will not destroy him or his scientific equipment. There, the two most powerful creatures in the galaxy fight it out. The Space Lizard tosses a boulder at the Hulk, who shatters it with one punch. The amphibious Space Lizard knocks the Hulk down into a lake, where he has a natural advantage underwater. The Hulk tries to get a giant clam to swallow his assailant, but the Space Lizard swims away too fast for him. He binds the Hulk up in a cord of kelp and stuffs him down into the rock grotto, thinking the Hulk will now drown once and for all. But the Hulk is too strong and obliterates the rocks which imprison him. The Hulk reaches the Space Lizard and picks up the patch of rock he stands on, hurling him far away into the sky.

The Watcher deems that the Hulk is the victor in this battle, and sends the Space Lizard back to from where he came. The Hulk tells the Watcher that he intends to steal the Ultimate Machine, and the Watcher says he cannot interfere and teleports him into his great hall of scientific equipment. The Leader makes sure that he's grabbed the object and then teleports him back to Earth. Once there, the Leader grabs the Ultimate Machine, which is a helmet that has all knowledge of the known universe inside of it. He dons the helmet and feels the immense power seeping in, but it overwhelms him and sends him into a coma. He falls to the ground in front of the Hulk, who declares the Leader dead!
