The Incredible Hulk

Story Synopsis: Talbot and his men investigate the Leader's lair, looking for the body of Bruce Banner but coming up empty. Rick Jones has surreptitiously taken Banner's limp body to his remote cave, where he hooks him up to the gamma ray machine and gives him a heavy dose of gamma rays. This turns him back into the Hulk, saving his life. Amazingly, the Hulk has the superior intellect of Bruce Banner- he is no longer the slow-thinking savage. He realizes, too, that the bullet in his brain will kill him if he turns back into Bruce Banner!

Meanwhile, the Leader further negotiates with Soviet arms dealers, telling him he can no longer offer the Absorbatron to them, but he can offer them a far superior offensive weapon, for the price of one billion dollars! They agree to purchase it, after the Leader tests the weapon's worthiness by destroying General Ross' base. The leader goes outside to set up his weapon- a 500-foot tall Humanoid! As the creature lumbers toward the base, the Hulk has gone to get one last look at the love of his life, Betty Brant. He had taken a potion to keep him locked in as the Hulk for 48 hours, and is sure that he will never be Banner again. When he looks into Betty's window, he sees Talbot trying to convince her to turn her love and affection towards him instead of Banner, the traitor!

But Talbot is called to action against the super-Humanoid, which has now invaded the perimeter of the base. The army assault is ineffective against the giant, and the Hulk springs into action against it, unintentionally blocking a missile that was fired at it. The Humanoid grabs the Hulk in his spongy fist, but the Hulk forces himself free. General Ross realizes he has both the Hulk and the Humanoid in his sights, and he tries to take both of them out with artillery fire. The launch a massive salvo of missiles at the Humanoid, but it only stuns him for a short time. The Hulk tries to knock him down and keep him off balance, and Talbot decides it's time to pull out the biggest weapon in their arsenal- the Sunday Punch Super-Missile!

As the military preps this untested and unproven weapon, Rick Jones realizes his friend might soon see annihilation, and he races off towards the Hulk to warn him!
