Synopsis: Thor joins Odin aboard his giant sky ship and heads into a lusty battle against the Demon Men of Jotunheim. When Odin asks him to return to Asgard full time, Thor demurs and says he must return to Earth. Odin senses he abandons Asgard for Jane Foster, and flies into a rage. Thor returns to Midgard, rejected but with resolve for his love of Jane. He decides he will tell her his true identity, no matter what may happen. He turns into the form of his human alter ego, Dr. Don Blake, and spills the truth: he is actually Thor, God of Thunder!

Meanwhile, in another part of town, the Grey Gargoyle has come back to the scene! He turns a couple museum inspectors that have recovered his stone-formed body from the bottom of the river (see JIM #107) into...well...stone! He flies across town with his newfound freedom, desperate to take care of Thor once and for all, and to learn the Thunder God's secret of immortality.

In Asgard, Loki witnesses Odin fly into a rage when he sees Thor confessing his identity to Jane Foster, and turns the event to his wicked favor. He encourages Odin to strip Thor of his powers in punishment. On Earth, Jane simply can't believe Don Blake's confession. Suddenly, the Grey Gargoyle comes crashing through the wall, seeking out Blake since he might know how to contact Thor. Blake tries to stamp his cane into Thor's hammer, but the transformation doesn't happen, and the Grey Gargoyle chases him and Jane down the elevator.

Thor's friends in Asgard devise a plan to help Thor in his time of need, but Loki uses his clever tongue to stall the plan. But unseen to him, a mysterious figure makes his way across the Rainbow Bridge to aid Thor. The Grey Gargoyle races to grab hold of Blake, turning people to stone all along the way. Thor's mysterious Asgardian benefactor fires a flash arrow that helps stop the villain for a moment, allowing Blake to commandeer a car and escape down the road.

But the Gargoyle catches up to the car, turning it to stone. But Thor's friend from Asgard is there to return his powers to him, and he transforms into Thor once again. With his hammer in his grip, he channels an electrical field that fuses the Grey Gargoyle's molecules into uselessness. He is stuck as a statue himself!

Thor collapses once his powers wane again, and his able friend, Honir the Hunter, returns to Asgard. There, Odin thanks him for helping his son, who he couldn't bear to let perish at the hands of the mortal foe, the Grey Gargoyle. Jane finds Don Blake recovering from the chase, and he confesses that his claim of being Thor was simply temporary madness.
