After arriving in Britan, DD tries to figure out his next move. He comes across a newspaper article
discussing a bunch of strange crimes in which Ka-Zar was implicated as the perpetrator- which the local media has referred to as the Midnight Stalker. Set upon by police
officials for questioning in a rash of predatory attacks by a bare foot man and a giant cat, he
has barricaded himself inside his castle and refused to allow entry. DD is moved to help him in any
way he can. As Ka-Zar peers down from the ramparts of the castle keep that is his inheritance, DD tries to
figure out a way to get past the gathered crowd of police, reporters and bystanders, as well as a
freshly arrived militia brandishing rifles.
Ka-Zar yells from above that he will fight to the death, for he is innocent. DD lashes his cable around
a nearby tree and leaps past the gunfire of the militia and jumps into the castle. Ka-Zar interprets his
friend's surprise arrival as some sort of betrayal, and he and Zabu attack! After a few moments tussling
back and forth, DD has an epiphany on how to get to the bottom of this. He races into a room where he is
able to place a quick phone call, then "plays a hunch" by getting Ka-Zar to chase him up to the
castle rampart, cajoling him into picking him up in anger and throwing him down into the moat. When
he does this, DD grabs Ka-Zar and pulls him down with him. As they hit the water and float quickly
down under, they both spot a submarine resting in the water!
Ka-Zar watches DD as he opens the hatch to the sub, and curiously follows his friend inside, where
they see the real culprit- Ka-Zar's brother, Parnival- the Plunderer! Ka-Zar realizes that DD is really
on his side, and together they overpower the Plunderer's flunkies. The Plunderer grabs his Nerve Bolt Ray and
fires at them, but both men duck out of the way, and a well-placed throw of DD's billy clob knocks the
villain out. The sub rises to the surface, and DD and Ka-Zar hand him over to the police, explaining
that the Plunderer made it appear through fakery that Ka-Zar and his tiger were responsible for terrorizing
the county. He had placed a call to Parnival Plunder's jail earlier and found out that he had recently escaped,
so he knew that the bad guy would stop at nothing to steal his brother's fortune.
Daredevil is able to fly back to New York with financial assistance from Ka-Zar. Meanwhile, Karen opens a
letter from Spider-Man addressed to Matt Murdock, in which Spidey reveals that he knows Daredevil's real
identity as the blind lawyer!
* (To save you the trouble of writing scathing letters to us, we'll explain here and how how the sightless DD can pilot a plane! He feels the vibrations of the needles and dials within the instrument panel, and his own natural radar sense takes care of the rest! - - Sly ol' Stan!)
