Synopsis: (continued from ASM #66)
Bewildered, Spider-Man does his best to evade Mysterio, who is looming over him and trying to smash him with his fist. Spidey escapes, but is eventually trapped in an ornately designed hall of mirrors.
Aunt May is visited by Dr. Bromwell, who tells May she is in poor health due to anxiety and shocks to her system. He confides with Anna that Peter seems to be part of the problem.
Spider-Man busts through the mirrored walls, but suddenly finds himself in another precarious state, swimming through a vortex of deep water. He finally races to the surface to breathe precious air. But now he finds himself in a house of horrors that leaves him constantly on the defensive, without a moment to think. A giant lizard reaches him and pulls him into its grip.
Captain Stacy and Joe Robertson discuss recent developments in the world of Spider-Man, when Joe is interrupted by a visit from his son, Randy, who has a lot to get off his chest with his dad...
Spider-Man can't catch a breather against Mysterio and decides to make his last stand on the belief that he's being tricked by the villain's illusions. Soon, he realizes he's the victim of a post-hypnotic suggestion, and he tracks Mysterio down to a control booth where he is behind the controls of the great illusion. Spidey slugs Mysterio into submission.
On his way back home, Spider-Man sees a crowd of students demonstrating.
