Synopsis: Matt Murdock wakes up in the middle of the night, transfixed by the idea that Elektra is alive. He thinks that perhaps her ninja powers might have saved her after all. He puts on his Daredevil outfit and races off into the night, possessed by the idea that he will find her.

At Ryker's Island, the Punisher is set upon by a trio of thugs who try to jump him. Even though he's only armed with a bath towel, he dispatches them all in clean and efficient time. While working out the next day, a special agent reads him the riot act for killing three more inmates, despite it being self-defense, but then tells the Punisher that he has a special assignment for him that will involve busting up a drug shipment due on Long Island the next day. He arranges to get the Punisher out of jail if he works with him.

Heather Glenn meets with the board at Glenn Industries, who are once again trying to get her to sign documents that go straight over her head, all with the intent of passing through shadowy projects that will give them control of Glenn Industries. She tells Mr. Spindle, head of the board, that she's going to have Matt Murdock look them over before she signs.

Daredevil is at Josie's Bar, busting heads to get news on recent underworld developments. He hears the Kingpin is holding a big summit, and assumes it has something to do with Elektra. He heads back to his office to see if Elektra's coroner's report has come in. Of course, despite all the seemingly incontrovertible evidence in the records that Elektra is indeed dead, Matt refuses to believe it. Heather shows up to talk to him and he blows her off, possessed with finding Elektra. She rushes out in a huff, and Matt's weird behavior alienates a new client that Foggy was trying to impress. Everyone, including Matt, wonder if he's losing his mind.

Back at Ryker's, Turk and Grotto are attempting to break out at the same time the Punisher is being sprung from jail by special agents. The Punisher makes it to the helicopter sent for him, and Turk tries to follow up the rope ladder before he's kicked off into the river by the Punisher.

Daredevil heads to the Kingpin's office, beating his way through his bodyguards and demanding to know from the Kingpin where he's hiding Elektra from him. The Kingpin laughs in his face, and Daredevil takes off. Foggy Nelson is woken up in the early morning hours by Judge Coffin, who is very upset that Matt Murdock woke him up to get him to sign an exhumation order for Elektra. A worried Foggy puts his clothes on to go check on his friend.

The Punisher is crashing the drug deal, applying lethal force to them and overtaking the truck full of the dope. He is upset to find out that one of the curriers he killed was only a kid. The special agent tagging along then aims his gun at the Punisher, to either arrest him or kill him. But before he can do anything about it, the Punisher kicks him in the face and knocks him out- he is NOT going back to prison!

At the cemetery, Matt digs his shovel into the earth over Elektra's crypt. He cannot sense her heartbeat, but he must make sure she's really in there. He pulls her coffin up and opens it, touching her face inside. It is Elektra, and she's really dead. Foggy arrives to help comfort his traumatized friend.
