CONTESTS AND COUPONS

THIS MONTH'S TALES OF WONDER COUPONS:

DEVIL DINOSAUR BY JACK KIRBY OMNIBUS: 10% OFF SALE PRICE AT TOW!

INPUT CODE: moonboy

COUPON EXPIRES: May 30, 2007

ITEM LINK: DEVIL DINOSAUR BY JACK KIRBY OMNIBUS

At first glance, this is a strange choice for the tag "Omnibus". On second and third glances, it's still strange! But what they hey - when you've got Jack Kirby dealing with oversize concepts like giant ants, super-sized spiders, fearsome space aliens, and a prehistoric forest full of dinos, why not slap the Omnibus on the oversize HC and be done with it! After all, this collects all nine issues of the late '70s series, which I have to rate as underappreciated. I don't know what fans of the time were expecting, but I don't think it was Devil Dinosaur! But what they got was a charming story of a boy and his dinosaur, a story full of adventure, suspense and sci-fi fun that's just perfect for young kids.

This coupon will take an extra 10% off TOW's price, so your final price will be $17.09 for the oversized HC!

Simply add Devil Dinosaur by Jack Kirby HC to your cart, input the coupon code "moonboy" into the designated box, and it will apply the discount! (Please make sure to use all lower case when typing in the code.)

UNCANNY X-MEN: RISE AND FALL OF THE SHI'AR EMPIRE HC: 10% OFF

INPUT CODE: brubaker

COUPON EXPIRES: May 30, 2007

ITEM LINK: UNCANNY X-MEN: RISE AND FALL OF THE SHI'AR EMPIRE HC

Ed Brubaker and Billy Tan's space epic is hitting on all cylinders in some of the most vital stories told under the Uncanny X-Men banner in a long, long time. Following up on the seminal events of DEADLY GENESIS, Prof. X rounds up a new team of X-Men for a mission into the heart of the Shi'Ar Empire, to try and stop the fruit of one of his most tragic mistakes from starting an intergalactic war. Marvel Girl, Havok, Polaris, Nightcrawler and Warpath take to the stars in a classic "mutants in space" epic! This oversized HC reprints Uncanny X-Men #475-486.

This coupon will take an extra 10% off TOW's price, so your final price will be $21.99 for the oversized HC!

Simply add Uncanny X-Men: Rise and Fall of the Shi'Ar Empire HC to your cart, input the coupon code "brubaker" into the designated box, and it will apply the discount! (Please make sure to use all lower case when typing in the code.)

IMAGE COMICS: THE ROAD TO INDEPENDENCE:
$5 OFF DISCOUNT PRICE AT TALES OF WONDER!

INPUT CODE: khoury

COUPON EXPIRES: June 15, 2007

ITEM LINK: IMAGE COMICS: THE ROAD TO INDEPENDENCE

Comics journalist and historian George Khoury comes through with another comprehensive look at the comics industry with Image Comics: The Road to Independence, a 280-page softcover published by TwoMorrows. If you're like me and weren't around for the Image Revolution, George's coverage in The Road to Independence will be a must read, because for better and worse, the rise of Image Comics in the '90s helped bring about massive change in the industry that is still felt today.

This coupon will take an extra $5 off TOW's discounted price, which brings the price of the book to $22.99, which is approximately $12 off the list price.

Simply add Image Comics: The Road to Independence SC to your cart, input the coupon code "khoury" into the designated box, and it will apply the discount! (Please make sure to use all lower case when typing in the code.)

CURRENT CONTEST: GUESS THE "BACK FOUR" FOR ACTION HEROES ARCHIVES VOL. 2

CONTEST DEADLINE: Monday, May 21, 12pm EST

I'm really excited about the upcoming Action Heroes Archives Vol. 2, due May 23rd, which reprints some of the comics I read in my earliest days as a fan: Steve Ditko's Blue Beetle and Question comics (which were printed in the late '70s under the "Modern Comics" imprint). Head to this CONTEST THREAD at the DC Forum and pick which four covers you think DC will choose to adorn the back cover of Action Heroes Vol. 2!

Ties will be broken by a random drawing. The winner will receive the in-stock DC ARCHIVES or MASTERWORKS of their choice from site sponsor TALES OF WONDER!
